This was 1/2 self-motivated and 1/2 a response to a brief. The brief was to create a piece of work around the subject of poverty, which is an incredibly loaded subject matter that I decided to subvert it a bit. This tale revolves around an anti-hero, who is a poor fortune teller traveling through an unfamiliar land. Through cunning and trickery he topples three princes and a king that rule over the area as they stand in the way of his freedom. A story of self-empowerment of one from modest means over those with far greater power, but through the use of less than honorable means. Each page is illustrated with a collage of 2-D and 3-D elements assembled together digitally.
